"Let’s Move with Fun Let’s Eat Healthy" Project in Ankara!
Pınar InstituteThe project, which was realized in cooperation with the Ministry of National Education, General Directorate of Basic Education and Pınar Institute, will continue in Ankara.
Speaking at the panel, Dr. Gülderen Özdemir, Head of Research and Development and Projects Department of the General Directorate of Basic Education of the Ministry of National Education, emphasized that the development, welfare and happiness of the society depends on the good and correct upbringing of the children. Isa Coşkun, Vice President of Corporate and Foreign Relations at Yaşar Holding, said that the education of children, the architect of our future, means building society on healthy foundations.
“Let’s Move With Fun Let’s Eat Healthy” project, implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of National Education, General Directorate of Basic Education and Pınar Institute, is carried out for children to acquire the right diet and physical activity habits in a preschool period for a healthy society. The project, which has reached nearly 6,000 children so far with the educational training held in Aydın, Denizli, Manisa, Muğla and Uşak, will continue to expand in Ankara in the 2019-2020 academic year. In line with the mission of Pınar Institute to raise public awareness and education activities on food, health and nutrition issues; The project aims to raise awareness of nutrition at a young age and to raise healthy individuals. The project aims to raise awareness among teachers and families as well as children.
Dr. Gülderen Özdemir, Head of Research and Development and Projects Department of the Ministry of National Education General Directorate of Basic Education; expressed satisfaction with the content and implementation of the project.
Özdemir; talked about the project, which aims to ensure that the importance of physical and mental health is an undisputed priority and to bring this priority at an early age. She said “To contribute to the physical, psycho-social and mental development of our children and young people in line with the Vision 2023 vision of the Ministry, to raise awareness on issues such as healthy eating, increasing traffic and environmental awareness, saving energy and protecting natural assets at an early age; We are carrying out projects and studies in many areas such as enabling them to use technology effectively and to perform innovative activities in structured educational environments.
The development, prosperity and happiness of our country depends on the good and correct upbringing of our children. All the investment we make in our children, every habit earned is an investment in the future. For this purpose; increasing the quality in an area that requires dynamic and continuous renewal such as education, ensuring cooperation from all segments of the society will further improve the existing and increase the quality of investment in the future. One of the collaborations we have made in this context is the Let's Move With Fun Let's Eat Healthy project that we have realized with Pınar Institute. With all these efforts, we aim to ensure that students, teachers and all school staff are in complete spiritual, physical and social well-being.”
Yaşar Holding Vice President of Corporate and Foreign Relations İsa Coşkun, underlined that healthy societies are possible with healthy children and expressed that they have signed a beneficial project on behalf of children where public, university and industry meet in common ground.
Coşkun gave information about the project; “This project, carried out by Pınar Institute with the aim of contributing to awareness of responsibility and contemporary education towards children, teachers, families and society who will be the architect of healthy societies, is of great importance for public health. With the educational materials prepared, the trainings covering the 12-week period were organized for 36-66 months old children in preschool institutions. Our goal is to sustain this project in the coming years by expanding throughout Turkey” he said.
In addition to these, the content, process and results of the project were shared in the Project Panel. In addition, Berna Karakaş from the Ministry of Health Public Health Agency of Turkey, Healthy Eating and Active Life Office made presantation on "Childhood Obesity in Turkey" and Prof. Dr. Hülya Gökmen Özel from Hacettepe University, Department of Nutrition and Dietetics President made presentation on “Childhood Nutritional Disorders”.
After the presentations, the implementations of the trainings were realized and a plaque of appreciation was presented to the speakers for their contributions.
In the afternoon program, the activities were supported with participatory teachers and workshops with fun and instructional activities.
