Scientific Articles Awards Find Their OwnersPınar Institute
Pınar Institute Scientific Article Award given to selected articles by considering criterias such as contribution to science, social benefit and applicability among articles published in refereed journals on food technology, nutrition-health relationship (hypertension, diabetes, osteoporosis, cardiovascular diseases, obesity, etc.) and food safety issues. The award ceremony was held on 21 May 2019 at Yaşar University.
İdil Yiğitbaşı, Chairperson of the Board of Pınar Institute, said “We aim to encourage researchers and future studies by supporting the studies carried out in the fields determined within the framework of our mission of supporting the researches and trainings in order to contribute to the healthy development of the society”.
In the award process, which includes valuable scientific studies; Dr. Inst. Şükrü Güleç and PhD Student Tuğçe Boztepe was awarded the first prize with the article “Investigation of the influence of high glucose on molecular and genetic responses: an in vitro study using a human intestine model”.
Scientific Article Assessment Board Members Prof. Dr. Sibel Karakaya, Prof. Dr. Mahmut Çoker, Prof. Dr. Gül Ergör, Prof. Dr. Muhittin Tayfur, Prof. Dr. Barbaros Özer, Prof. Dr. Alev Bayındırlı and Prof. Dr. Gürbüz Güneş evaluated the scientific studies. Dr. Pınar Ercan and Prof. Dr. Sedef Nehir El won the second prize with the article “Inhibitory effects of chickpea and Tribulus terrestris on lipase, α-amylase and α-glucosidase” while Res. Asst. Ezgi Doğan Cömert and Prof. Dr. Vural Gökmen won the third prize with the article “Mechanism of the interaction between insoluble wheat bran and polyphenols leading to increased antioxidant capacity”.
