Let's Move With Fun, Let’s Eat Healthy
ProjectsThe project aims to raise children's awareness about the importance of balanced nutrition and physical activity through play. The project aims to guide children in early childhood on balanced and healthy nutrition, to help them develop habits related to optimal nutrition, to organize entertaining activities and to make them realize that physical activity is important for a healthy life as well as nutrition.
Preschool education is an important process where change begins for the future life of the individual. If the right activities are planned, developed and implemented, these changes provide excellent opportunities in the lives of individuals. For preschool children, health-related messages and adults who can model the habits included in these messages are important. Generally, it is considerable for teachers to model children in this age group and to develop these behaviors in a positive environment. In this context, it is important for teachers to be a model for children and to pay attention to the selection of healthy foods in nutrition, to encourage children to taste foods and to adopt a more active life with them.
Preschool children learn by doing and experiencing. For this reason, a 12-week training program has been prepared based on experience healthy foods and participate in physical activities,realizing how nutritious foods and physical activity can be fun.
In 2018, a three-year cooperation protocol was signed with the General Directorate of Basic Education of the Ministry of National Education in order to raise nutrition awareness at a young age in order to raise healthy individuals with the "Let's Move with Fun Let’s Eat Healthy" project conducted by Pınar Institute.
The project has been associated with the Sustainable Development Goals as of 2018.
In accordance with sub-target 2.2 of the "Zero Hunger" goal, the project aims to "end all forms of malnutrition in children under the age of five". The project was implemented with the aim of preventing all kinds of nutritional problems from malnutrition to obesity.
Within the scope of "strengthening capacities for early warning, risk mitigation and risk management against national and global health risks" stated in Article 3.d of the "Healthy Individuals" target, it is aimed to prevent health problems based on nutrition and lack of physical activity through healthy life habits to be acquired in childhood.
Within the scope of sub-target 4.2 of the "Quality Education" objective, one of the main objectives of the project is to "ensure that all girls and boys have access to quality early childhood development care and services and pre-school education in order to prepare them for primary education". At the same time, the project aims to "significantly increase the supply of qualified teachers" as set out in sub-target 4.c through nutrition and physical mobility trainings provided to teachers.
As of the 2019-2020 academic year, all training materials are available on the project website.

The cooperation protocol signed with the Ministry of National Education General Directorate of Basic Education was renewed in 2021.
For the 2022 - 2023 academic year, training practices were initiated with the new educational materials developed.
Follow Up and Evaluation Studies
While the project implementations are in progress or after its completion, school visits are carried out within the scope of the Follow Up and Evaluation Studies in order to learn the contributions, requests and suggestions of teachers regarding the project and to closely examine their work.
NEW EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS
Teacher's Handbook:
"Deniz and Ege's Healthy NutritionPlate" contains a 10-week education program. This program includes activities on Healthy Eating, Food Groups, Balanced Nutrition Plate, Rainbow Colors in the Meal I Eat, Water and Its Importance, Our Kitchen and the Planet, Our Plate and the Planet. The activities aim to raise awareness of preschool children about healthy foods, water consumption, sustainable nutrition and food waste, and to inform their families.
New Storybooks:
Deniz and Ege's Kitchen Board:The book is intended to help children adopt a sustainable and environmentally friendly lifestyle.
Tiny Gardeners: This book aims to teach children about the journey of fruits and vegetables until they reach the kitchen and the importance of agriculture in human life.
The general message of the project is that healthy societies are possible with healthy children. The project is carried out with the aim of contributing to modern education and awareness of responsibility towards children, teachers, families and society who will be the architects of healthy societies.
